Admission Rules

� A student who has a clear pass in the Higher Secondary Part-II examination (Class 12) of the J&K Board of School Education or an examination recognized as its equivalent by the University of Jammu is only eligible for admission to B.A. / B.Sc. Part-I.

� A student, whose result is declared late by the J&K Board, may be admitted as per admission rules of the University, subject to the availability seats.

� The college having been declared as Lead college, student applying in science stream should have atleast 50% marks where as for arts minimum of 45% marks are required. But students belonging to reserved categories should have at least 45% and 40% marks for science and arts streams respectively.

� A student who is admitted to the college and completes the minimum required attendance but either fails or does not appear in the ensuing University examination, will not be considered for admission in the same class again.

� If a student after being admitted remains continuously absent for 15 days or more. He / she shall be removed from the college rolls and shall not be readmitted to the same class during the same year. The year so wasted shall be counted as a year of break and will be dealt with under an appropriate clause.

� No applicant for B.A / B.Sc. Part-I can take up Mathematics, Statistics as subject unless he has qualified the higher secondary part-II or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

� Admission to a particular subject or combination of subjects, is purely subject to the availability of seats.

� After admission, change of subjects/combination/section is not permitted.

Eligibility for BA/B.SC/B.COM

Science Stream : Minimum 45% Marks in qualifying examinations

Arts : Minimum 40% or below, but only subject to availability of seats

Commerce : Minimum 40% Marks in qualifying examinations

Students of Science to Commerce : Minimum 45% Marks in qualifying examinations

Science with biotechnology : Minimum 60% Marks in qualifying examinations

Documents Required

Attested Photocopy of Marks Sheet of Class XII

� Attested Photocopy of Reserved Category Certificate issued by the Competent Authority as stated in SRO 126/294.

� Provisional certificate issued by the Head of the Institution last attended (Original Only).

� Marks certificate of the class last passed (two attested photocopies)

� Character certificate issued by the Head of the Institution last attended (Original only)

� In case of Private candidates, a character certificate signed by a First Class Magistrate/Panchayat Sarpanch/MLA/SHO of the area to which the student belongs to or a Gazetted Officer can be submitted in original.

� Three copies of recent passport size photograph

� Matriculation certificate (two attested photocopies)

� In case of wards of military/paramilitary personnel/Central Govt. employees, transfer certificate of father or guardian is to be enclosed.

� Reserved Category certificate from the competent authority as stated in SRO-126/294 (original & two attested photocopies thereof)

� Students passing from school board/University other than J&K Board of school Education/Jammu University are required to produce the migration certificate in original and two attested photocopies thereof.

� Students seeking admission are advised to bring all original certificates at the time of admission for verification purpose.
